Google released two updates for its YouTube iOS app. This brings interesting new features for iPhone or Apple Watch users who use Google's service for widescreen streaming. Let's take a closer look at the possibilities, to know to get the best of an application that keeps getting better: Fast forward / rewind The first and most obvious feature of the new features is when viewing a video on the iPhone. It is now possible to type 2 quick strokes with the finger on the screen to move forward or backward by 10 seconds instantly. More practical than playing with the scroll control, it will be understood that the double pressing on the left part of the screen allows to go back , the pressing on the right part allowing it to go further. Youtube Chromecast, Apple TV and Apple Watch So now, when a video is sent to a Chromecast key or Apple TV , the controls (previous video, next, title, and in some cases miniature) is available outside of the application itself: On the home page of the iPhone when it is locked In the notification center (dropdown from the bottom of the screen, second tab) There is a difference between the display offered when streaming to Chromecast or Apple TV. In the first case, the integration is better since a thumbnail representing the video is displayed, which is not the case when sending to Apple TV. Finally, Apple Watch owners will be happy to enjoy the same possibilities of streaming videos streamed from the Apple Watch. Here is a complete integration: controling from the Apple Watch, a video streamed via the iPhone / iPad application and displayed on television. A function that is still not available that the users demand is the possibility to be able to keep a video (music) playback while being able to go to other apps on the iPhone.
